Interview with toboye

1. Please tell us a bit about yourself!
Hi! My name is Tobi, I'm 19 years old and i live in Bavaria, Germany. Apart from WoW I like to spend my time with my friends and to listen to music and I also love watching TV programs like Supernatural and Dr. House.
2. What made you start playing WoW arena seriously?
I love competition and for me as a person I have to be good at things which I spend time on. Playing Arena was always fun and will always be fun but I have to fight against the best and that’s why i started to play seriously.
3. What is your opinion regarding arena gameplay at the moment, is it balanced? Is it better than the other seasons or better then the Burning Crusade arena?
Season 5 was the best! *jk* No seriously... At the moment I think the game is pretty balanced except for some things that have been imbalanced, and are changing every season. I think you will always have those kinds of "problems" in these games. Back in BC with SL/SL Lock, rogues with glaives, and so on and nowadays with elemental shamans, there will always be something "especially good" like that just hunter/death knight at Season 5 :). But I think you can handle it pretty well if you know what to do against stuff like that.
4. What do you think of the current WoW Esport scene?
Hard for me to say. I guess the WoW Esport scene is really great right now, a lot of support, events, sponsorships and a lot of great teams which try to break through into the pro scene. Also i think it’s very hard do get into into this scene because of the old teams that know each other very well and do not really “like” new guys.
5. Do you have any tips for players nowadays?
Practice a lot, watch movies, speak to pros and just play play play. You have to trust your mates and you should always have fun when you play, it helps really improves your gameplay if you “own“ with a smile :). And always remember, mistakes are human. Never give up and always give your best.
6. What’s the best tip you can give to players in your class?
Play beast cleave and pray for Ring of Valor map! *jk* There are a lot of things which you should be aware of, first of all, positioning! This is the most important factor; always know where to go next and where your healer stands. Don't get to greedy and try to burst one single target, tunnelvision. Pet control is also very important; always remember that your pet is a really strong part of your team. Mana management is also efficient! Try as often as possible to put Viper on and to reg if you don’t burst.
7. Do you like your class currently? Do you think it’s better than what it used to be?
The Hunter is pretty awesome right now, I have been playing the hunter class ever since 2005 and it has improved from season to season, to be honest, its damage against casters is ridiculous sometimes but you can also get globaled. What I like the most is the fact that you can just do a bunch of things to have a better control over the games you play.
8. If you could change a few things in WoW arena or WoW itself, what would you change?
First of all i would remove the Ring of Valor arena, nothing to discuss. Also spells like Lightning Overload are way too strong I guess. I would think about the whole shaman class and change things.
9. What’s the hardest match you’ve ever had? (setup, tactics etc.)
Well the hardest setup for me as a hunter and especially our team is the combo of druid / lock / elemental shaman...And also good RMP's like Team Dignitas. There were many hard matches in the past but nothing special to mention.
10. What would you advise people regarding fights against your class?
You have to be careful about your bursts, and also I would kill the pet if the momentum allows it. Also it’s very important to get out of the Line of Sight of the hunter and watch his mana / cooldowns.
11. Are there any common mistakes most players do nowadays that should be addressed?
Most players are getting too greedy in the match. You should always be careful about your position and cooldowns. Running into the opponent team and trying to tunnelvision some random target won’t really work against good teams.
12. Do you and your sponsor have any future plans regarding the game?
We are looking forward to future tournaments and qualifiers, nothing special.
13. What are your plans regarding the TR?
There isn’t really a plan. We just try to beat most of the teams and win every match, what is really hard against the wizzcleaves. Of course we would like to finish top 8 but only time will tell.
14. Alliance or Horde?
Beastcleave Horde otherwise Alliance because of the imba trinkets.
15. Blood elf female or male?
Female!
16. Is there anything else you’d like to add?
I would like to thank all of our sponsors at mTw - Mindfactory.de, Sennheiser Communications, OCZ Technology, mysn XMG and Kaspersky!
Also thanks to my team mates and friends which support me all the time and for the good time we spend together!
